Croke Park Hotel, Dublin

Has anyone stayed at this establishment? If so, what was your overall impression? Is the location convenient to city centre in terms of walking?

Can't speak to having stayed at the hotel itself.
But I would not be walking from there into the centre of town.
It's about 35 mins walk to Trinity College and you have to pass through some of the least salubrious areas of Dublin.
Take the bus or a taxi.

Daytime as well as nighttime? Would that be the number 16 bus that originates from the airport?

Most definitely at night. And better daytime too.
Dublin Bus has a route planner http://www.dublinbus.ie/Route-Planner/

I've walked it plenty of times during the day with no issues but I would not fancy doing it at night. Hop in a taxi for the short trip into town. People posting on Tripadvisor love this place and no one seems to raise the issue of the walk into town.

It's a nice hotel with really only the stadium beside it, if your planning a few days I'd stay somewhere closer to the city centre.
