MAN Airport T1-T3 Transfer Time
Can anybody estimate how long to transfer when arriving @ T1 (@ 07.25am) & connecting in T3? Thanks.

I have no experience of transferring in MAN and never seen anyone going towards the Flight Transfer Centre which is in T1 where I usually arrive. Since T1 and T3 are actually in the same building I don't expect the transfer to take long. You may like to check the following website:

I'm going to have to ask the dumb question. Why are you flying to Manchester if you want to be in London? Etihad fly direct to London.
If your MAN flight is already booked and non refundable, and your final destination is central London, it may be quicker to take the train from Manchester to London. There's a railway station in the airport, one change to get to London. Man airport to central London is less than three hours by train, faster than flying (if your final destination is central London).

'If you are arriving at Terminal 1 proceed on foot to the Flight Transfer Centre. ... Once at the Flight Transfer Centre you will be required to go through security and border control checks. Once you have cleared these controls, follow the signs to Terminal 3 and check the flight information screens for the gate of your onward flight.'
That sounds pretty straightforward. I've read somewhere that sometimes you have to wait for someone to turn up to escort you through the Flight Transfer Centre but since T1 and T3 are next to each other it shouldn't take long and should be quicker than going through passport control with the rest of the crowd, walk from T1 to T3 (outside the building) and go through security in T3.

I need 4 flights on BA metal to retain BAEC Gold/Emerald - hence the BA flight, which goes towards that. The reason for the EY flight is that there was (& still is) no reward flight available to LHR when I need to travel, and there was one seat to MAN. There, I hope that satisfies your curiosity & proves that there is some method to my madness - this is FT after all

As the original thread is three years old, and may contain some outdated information, I've split out the newer posts into a thread specific to this transfer. Please continue to follow this discussion in the new thread.
