Like everything else, LHR will take up whomever offers them the best deal for ATMs.

Exactly, like the retailers, the ATM's are concessions. So if company X offers BAA a better deal (i.e. more money), that's who BAA will choose.

I thought all the Barclays cash machines had become Travelex.

Checking link doesn't seem to show any.

I think the one in your Barclays link at Thomas Cook is the one discussed in this thread that is no longer there. I don't think Thomas Cook is there anymore either.

This topic has less importance as BofA now charges a 3% forex fee (even for transactions at Global Alliance partner ATMs like Barclays).

For USA residents, the best choice is now a Fidelity or Schwab ATM card that rebates fees and doesn't limit you to a particular overseas partner.

The T5 Barclays cash machine went at least a year ago (I know I posted a photo at some point or another). The nearest Barclays is across the street from the Hatton Cross Underground/Bus station.

My rant from when BoA started assessing fees (I switched to USAA and am very happy): http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trave...ction-fee.html
