TWA vs PA

Historical question: Was TWA or PA the better airline and why? PA pioneered most of the int'l routes, was the impetus of the 707 and 747 and, especially in the 1960s, had a certain glamour and mystique about it. On the other hand, TWA was known as a "pilots airline" in that it developed a lot of safety and navigational devices making air travel shorter and safer. It also was the impetus, I believe, for the Connie. What do you think?
