OBVIOUSLY you have absolutely no idea what an attorney, as an advocate for their Client or for themselves, do or perhaps you're just the type that enjoys being stepped on or doesn't have $5,000+ to hire an attorney to act in your behalf or maybe you think attorneys just say please to the Defendant and/or judge. As for the "right thing" these incident took place on 05 April and until I filed Notice of Intent to Litigate I NEVER received ANY reply from TK and, 50% of TK's wrong doing took place in IST (and not in JED).

Excuse me, but this entire thread has been one big 'implied statement' that you are a legal hot shot that airlines had better me wary of ! Who's next on your list and I'll short some shares now.
It's acheived its objective of showing that TK is incapable of following their own published tariffs and abiding by *A rules and that their is recourse to those TK have offended.
Legal stuff or otherwise, I guess we attorneys are only good when you're in need of assistance, otherwise following William S.'s advice we should all be drowned.

1, Would also be interesting to read which flight was switched from C to an aircraft without C? TK has on most shorthaul AC the curtain between C and Y while seats are the same (except for those flying longer sectors). All longhaul AC have a real biz section.
2, It happens from time to time within all alliances that airlines report wrong booking classes. You can still send in the receipts
3, He should simply fax the office the T&C which will exactly tell what age is entitled to discounts. Airlines reps being wrong even happens on so called 5* airlines.
4, You can send the TK lounge dragons to a training with UA, US and some LH ladies.

Impressed. I like it when someone uses their only effective remedy when an airline acts in breach of their contract. I have a suit against UA for stranding me at the other end of the world Bali Indonesia. I could not travel only 4 days after an operation for a open bone fractured angle ("Impossiblity").
"Reservation can not be changed" I was told coldly even after offering to pay a change fee. Can you tell me which Federal Law you apply. Does that law apply to a domestic carrier located in IL (United Airlines) and operating in and out of Hartford CT.A judment in my favor would be rendered in a state small claims court. ( is it called section 1110 ?). I am not a lawyer so a little guidance would be appreciated. I bit of knowledge might give me "leverage of pursuation" . Thanks

IMHO: No pun intended, but you do not really have a leg to stand on. Your contract with United dictated a "no changes permitted" clause. You accetped this when purchasing the ticket. This is why buying travel insurance is very important on a 'no change' ticket -- this can be as little as US$ 99. United could've been a bit more sympathetic to your injury, but it is following the Star Alliance regulations. So, I just do not see any legal recourse.
Which airline are you ticketed EX-Bali? Try and reason with them. Bring all medical records and ask to speak with the 'Station Manager' at the airport.
Try to submit whatever costs you incurred for a new ticket to your own medical insurer. Keep every bit of documentation.

BKKLEE Wow! You are a Pit Bull!
But why didn't you just 'decline charges' with your credit card issuer? In most cases, the vendor, TK in this case, have fourteen days to respond to the dispute. Not much of a problem with a boarding pass stamped "downgraded."
Since I'm currently in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (albeit I live in Bangkok), things here are mainly done in cash and in order to coordinate my arrival into Istanbul with my wifes from Bangkok so we could go together to Rome, I bought our tickets 8-months prior to the departure dates.
To continue discussion, I suggest going over to Private Messages - mine is open. Regards.....
