Is tax free from EU allowed through security at IST?

Is tax free (liquid) bought at an airport in EU and placed in a sealed bag, allowed through the transit security at IST?

It depends to your destination.

If you have a connection flight within the European Community or United States, it is not permitted to carry any previously purchased duty-free products (over 100ml) as hand luggage even in sealed bags

Not sure what they mean by that, but last month I carried two 1-liter bottles bought in FRA through security at IST with no problems whatsoever.

IME EU arrivals rarely are re-screened at IST. If you are the sealed bag will suffice.

Thanks for the details, it makes sense. I'm going to SGN so I'll take my chances.

EU (and now also US) arrivals are not screened in IST - you do not even go through Security. For jetty arrival you need to show your B/Pas and you will be sent upstairs - to the departure area, for bus arrivals - these is a separate terminal entry skipping security (B/Pass is also verified).

I transit through IST roughly 15 times a year, on half the times from EU, and I have only one time experienced not to be let through the transit security. It might be due to the airports I fly from, I don't know.
