Coach Legroom is Bad Enough - Why Reduce it Further with a Footrest?
Just flew Turkish for the first time. There were a couple of minor annoyances, but this one bugged me the most.
I flew the 777. Each coach seat has a footrest anchored to the seat in front. When the footrest is down, it interferes with stretching one's legs out because it is there blocking the ability to extend one's legs under the seat in front.
But, when it's up, it takes away an inch or more from a portion of the seat pitch. See photo below.
Coach legroom is bad enough these days - why put something in that further restricts legroom?

There are a few airlines who still insist on installing these footrests in economy. They drive me nuts as well, there is no way there is enough room for them to be of use to even extremely short people. Definitely a big fan of ditching them all to allow more leg room for the majority of their passengers.

Slight necropost, but this legrest is the reason why I won't fly LH TK in Y.
I've never flown any airline long haul, that has worse seating than TK Y.
Legrests in Y are a great thing when done properly. Look at QF A380!
