Why can't I buy TK ticket with UA miles?

Why can't I buy TK ticket with UA miles?
I logged in to my UA account and tried to purchase IAH-IST ticket but none of the offerings were non stop and non were TK
Can anyone explain why? I thought united and THY are both in star alliance.

For some weird reason it is practically impossible to book THE FIRST leg of a reward on TK with UA miles,dont know why,but this is my experience from lots of bookings,-newer fails in my experience.UA offcs prefeers to book rewards on non direct flights bcs the direct ones are more popular,but thats a different issue.

I didn't have any problems booking TK flights using UA miles last week.
It didn't matter if the first segment was on TK or another airline; I was able to find TK flights either way.
OP, when are you looking to travel?
Edit: plenty of TK nonstop award flights available for IAH-IST from September and later. For earlier dates, someone has probably booked the award seats that TK released.

I was able to book an IAH-IST saver business class ticket in late October using United miles. Had to waitlist the DEN-IAH segment in business but it cleared two days later (shocker!). There was also a lot of YUL and YYZ availability for the same dates for some friends of mine.

I logged in to UA so many times and never seen non stop IAH-IST never
There are some THY legs here and there but never non stop
This is a conspiracy theory now, I think someone bought them all
