For some city pairs the difference between B and J can be quite low, so you might want to check with whomever you purchased the ticket from how much a ticket change from B to J XXX-IST-NYC (oneway) would cost.

Upgraded at check in to business class for $750
During check in for IAH-DEL, asked if any business class last minute upgrades were available, and the agent said yes, $750 to upgrade to business class. Being that my original price was only $1204 I feel like I got a great deal!

THY has for the past week been offering paid upgrades from any Y fare to J on the BOM to IST route for a bargain $300. I upgraded today from a highly discounted P fare and even got a front row 'first class' cabin on their Jet Airways 777. Quite understandably, no business class mileage credit is applied. Is anyone aware of similar practices being adopted on other routes?

Any recent reports of upgrades on TK from BOM?
Given that TK now operates it's newer 2 class B777-300ER with J49 + Y300 seat config, what are the chances of an Op-upgrade for StarGold status (via AI) flying BOM-IST-ABJ on a Sunday?
I am booked on a H class fare, that earns 100% + 25% bonus. Would be intrested to check out the upgrade fees for both segments- especially IST-ABJ, which is operated by their B737-900ER.
Thanks.

Someone can add this to the Wiki.
Flying out on TK6 ORD-IST (08/2015). The door to the staff/back room was wide open by the Business/*G counters, on the whiteboard:
"All upgrades: $999, except X, N"
So I assume that's US$999 to go from Y->J (as Comfort class isn't offered anymore on this route), all booking classes apart from X, N (which I assume are award redemption/staff travel classes)
Didn't even bother asking, personally think that's a tad much to be a good deal.

Last week, SFO-IST at SFO TK business/elite check in counters:
Sign offering 1299$ paid upgrade Y -> C on 777 new J (49 seats, 7 rows, 2-3-2 configuration). Seems like an OK deal to me for what is their longest route with some great service in J.
Already had J confirmed so didn't need it but would have paid if not. At the end, J was only at 40% capacity (no idea if Y was full). Seems like they didn't upgrade a lot of people, status or paid.
