Outrageous taxes and fees on award ticket when using Miles& Smiles

I calculated the taxes charged on a United ticket booked with miles and smiles. Basically the sum was all taxes, everything but the fare. The only extra charge Turkish charges compared to United is the 7.5% us transportation tax, in my case $35.60. Still $117 tax on a $402 ticket is not bad, especially considering that I only had to use 20,000 miles to Mexico round trip when United charges 35,000.
