Both Ovda and Eilat (ETH) can handle 737s. TK announced a service to Aqaba recently but I'm not sure they already started it. So Ovda/Eilat are not impossible, but I personally cannot see the business potential.

TK did add TLV-SAW (daily) recently. I'm going to be on one of them next week.

ETH would be interesting to Europeans wanting to connect and not wanting to get robbed by LY fares but ultimately probably not supportable except on an RJ.

you are wrong - basically since opening KSF 04.04.2013, there was Croatia Airlines (OU) scheduled flight from Split to KSF every THU in Summer schedule 2013, using Dash-8. no more this winter schedule though...
