IST-NBO: 737-900 in service yet?
Hi - does anyone know if these new planes have been put into service? We're booked on Feb 8th. Originally it was supposed to be a A333, but seems like it has gotten switched to this
Does anyone have experience w/business class on the 737-900, assuming that's what we fly? If not, are they seriously flying an old style 737 and charging C fare for those seats where they just take out the middle one?

The business class on the 739ERs consists of leather Comfort Class seats. If you search the forum you'll see the cabin pics I posted earlier.

If i may borrow this thread...
We have an upcoming trip GOT-IST-NBO in 3 weeks and i wonder what's the difference between 737-800 and 78D?
Last row in 78D is 28 and in 737-800 last row is 29.
Any chance for a new AC?
thx

The latest B737-800s and the B737-900ERs share the same cabin product.
However, do not get your hopes up, TK likes to swap a/c.

wait, I'm still confused....
does this mean regardless of whether it's a 737-800 or 737-900, we will get the comfort class seat? I really don't want to be stuck with the pseudo-business class where there's 6 seats per row and they just block out the middle, especially as we're using a lot of UA FF miles for this trip.

I'm sorry for you but since the number of new 739 sky interior received by TK is still very limited, it remains very likely that you'll get a "fake" C cabin with a row of six seats and middle one blocked.

737-900
I flew recently IST-DAR on new 737-900 in C. 4 rows, seating is 2+2 = 16 seats. Bad for award availability. Proper C short-haul seats. They are not comfortable for sleeping in a 6h+ night flight though.
I guess these are the same Comfort Class seats.
Catering was also short-haul. IFE in the armrest with video-on-demand. Selection of movies was about the same than on long-haul flights.

TK is only using the 737-800 with sky interior to NBO. This is going to stay the same, since aircraft availability with new interior on 738s is incrasing rapidly. Each months up to end of June they will receive 2 new 737s per months. So this should help.

Okay great, the new sky interior is a lot better looking! Any idea how much those seats recline, ie if sleeping is good?
Also, is Turkish's meal service on IST-NBO departing 1855 the same quality as their long haul on YYZ-IST?
Thanks for the help!
