Hey FT folks,

Do non-US citizens receive the physical Global Entry Card ? I am a Singapore National approved for GE but haven't received a card yet. I read the website FAQ that suggest only US/Canada/Mexico nationals get the card. Just wanted to re-confirm if this is indeed the case. thx

No, we don't.

In general you don't need one. The only official use of the card is for land border crossing into the US (which we aren't eligible for). The kiosks only accept a passport anyways (except for kiosks at preclearance locations which can take a Nexus card too).

I have however been asked to show the card (which I of course don't have) by an immigration officer in YYZ - this isn't supposed to happen, but I did have my confirmation letter so I showed that instead. It's also useful to get into the expedited security lanes at canadian airports, which is a benefit we're arbitrarily denied. I've always carried the confirmation letter just in case there's some software issue (CBP systems crash occasionally) and I need proof of GE membership.

Thank you for the response. Yep, was just concerned about those discretionary rules from CBP officers about wanting to see a card before they allowed you to access the lane. If the confirmation letter works - thats great!

Thank you for update, I am also from DFW and applied on 7Jan. Most likely I might receive conditional approval (as long as application has no issues) by today or Tuesday.

Approval times vary based upon many factors including citizenship and immigration status.

Yes, you will get an email notification that there has been a change in status in your GOES account. You'll need to login to find out the nature of the change. Below is a copy of the email that I received when I was conditionally approved:

Applied Jan 6. Still pending...

I was hoping to schedule my interview for next week because CPB is hosting interviews in Omaha next week. It would be much easier to interview at home than to travel to an interview site.

Renewal.

10 days from application to conditional approval. Argh, I didn't get to skip the interview this time. Good thing I renewed early.
