1) AA miles are brilliant value if starting journey ex-europe to middle east/india. The total cost was 80K + £115 taxes/fees
2) Jet Airways are literally impossible to get a redemption on in F class. I was lucky and still do not know how i manage to get seats one month before journey. I guess because it was a day after diwali, the avaibility was there.
3) R class is 9W F class redemption, i searched all the over the internet, no such luck! I even joined the 9W FF program but you have to have a minimum of 10K in your account before you can starting making dummy bookings to check availability. Ive got another redemption (april 2010) for next year but i had to book exactly 365 days in advance and it only worked because AA now allow one way bookings. If i had to wait until the return date came into range, i would lose out on the outbound. unbelievably, they did not have any redemption available 364 days and less!
4) The First Class concierge was amazing, they look after you all the way from arriving at the departure airport to leaving the arrival airport.
5) The crew really take pride in their jobs and this rubs off in the way they provide the service. As i mentioned in the TR, it is considered a white collar job in India. I had champagne top ups without asking, they provided popcorn just as i woke up and started to use the IFE system. They managed to anticipate and provide without being asked and that was impressive!!!
