I remember planning a fastest RTW touching 6 continents several years ago. I think it went CDG-CCS-SJO-LAX-SYD-SIN-DXB-CAI-CDG, somewhere in the 70-80-hr range.
Actually it can still be done, minus the DXB stop in 73 hrs! Only $5500. ew.

It must be possible to do this quite quck now with NZ on something like LHR-LAX-AKL-LHR.
EDIT:
52 hours 36 minutes via HKG on the way back, only £952.30 on Expedia.
From NZ it is quicker doing it AKL-HKG-LHR-LAX-AKL. However that is not bookable on NZ as one ticket due to the connection time at LHR being less than they'll allow. It may be bookable on other sites. The special fare we got required booking on Air NZ's NZ website (so we couldn't even book as two one-ways).

Nice. Did you actually do the fast 6 continents RTW? I wonder if there is something similar that can be done on points/miles?
