SAA offer a lovely F/C Service. This product was a hybrid between their old Blue Diamond First Class and their current F/C Suite. They always offer unusual meal choices (check out the mains below), and were starting to put sheets and provide duvets after the meal service for a more comfortable sleeping experience. This flight continued on to Osaka, but I alighted in Bangkok.

DINNER

Hors D'Oeuvres:
Osietra caviar from the Caspian Sea wiht traditional accompaniments, blinis and sour cream
OR
Pastrami-cured salmon with picked cucumber ribbons
OR
Pastry pouch filled with wild mushrooms and mozzarella cheese, served on Chinese greens with a coriander-cream sauce

Seasons's Salad
A selection of seasonal salads served from the trolley, three-cheese dressing or basil vinaigrette

Main Dishes:
Loin of Impala with a toasted macadamia crust, served with char-grilled Cape dried fruit
Honey-mustard glazed breast of chicken, served with caramelised onion sauce
Grilled seafood platter comprising crayfish, prawn, line fish, mussels and calamari, served on a garlic-lemon-butter sauce
Chilli linguine with arugula pesto and roasted peppers

A short but sweet one. No menus passed out but noteworthy due to the short flight time. An excellent meal and fantastic service.

I imagine they got rid of this type of dressing as Frank Lorenzo started to build his doomed empire.

I had no idea what Lorenzo Dressing is, so I looked it up--Vinaigrette with chili sauce and chopped watercress. Odd.
