Maybe the second time's the charm on the TRs. Nice work so far, tng11. Thanks for rekindling some very pleasant memories of my trips in First aboard Lufthansa and Business aboard Singapore. Now I want to go fly somewhere in style!

Bali and Lombok:
Being a well-intentioned hippie-type (the irony is not lost on me, contributing all of that carbon pollution by flying first class around the world), I came to Bali to do a 3-day camp doing nothing but yoga, meditation, eating vegan food and sleeping on hard floors. Couldn't have been farther removed from caviar and champagne here.
Mercifully, I will spare everyone here the horrors of me doing a downward dog in my yoga shorts.
I also chose to partake in some sightseeing around the area on my final day in Ubud (as well as taking a car out to Tanah Lot for the legendary sunset):
First, some hanging out with the cheeky monkeys in the park:

Kopi luwak time? Who on earth thought it would be a brilliant idea to drink cat poop coffee? As far as I'm concerned it's the Emperor's New Clothes (though my Dad is convinced it's the best coffee on the planet because it's expensive.)

Babi Guling from a stand that was recommended in some guidebook. Tasted a lot better than it looked, especially after a few days of nothing but vegan food.

The next morning, it was time to make my way to Lombok on this ratchety boat:

Which leads you to scenery like this: (how often do you see a deserted beach in Bali?)

I ended up taking a boat out to the Gilis and did a few dives in the area. Didn't see anything spectacular, but it was a good (and cheap) way to keep up my scuba diving proficiency.

Garuda Indonesia Economy Class Lombok to Denpasar
First time flying GA, on this route where the flight time is just about 45 minutes (and was dirt cheap at $30 USD).

Lombok airport had a surprisingly decent lounge run by the Sheraton (by small airport standards), accessible by Priority Pass:

The food selection consisted of a few local dishes, such as Nasi Goreng, Chicken Satehs and Beef Rendang, which were actually rather tasty:

The new-ish 737-800:

Okay, that's a little too cozy for comfort. Mercifully, the flight today is just under 40 minutes:

2015-08-22 17.44.17 by nomadtom89, on Flickr
On such a short flight, Garuda did manage to serve a snack box, much to my surprise:

Arrived into DPS with more than 3 hours to make my connection to SQ:
2015-08-22 18.12.31 by nomadtom89, on Flickr
But wait, why won't they let us in the Terminal?

I would've thought he would have at least sat down by now. :P Standing for so long is a bit tiring, don't you think?
