Our coach had the Club style, full-leather seats.
Obligatory bathroom shot
Free newspapers
Lunch, like Sala Club access, is only available if you purchased a Preferente ticket on a Promo+ or Flex rate on a day that is not Saturday. Pretty impressive for a train meal. Amtrak needs to step up their game.
Turista seats looked pretty nice too
Bar lounge/refreshment car

Arriving at Madrid Atocha station felt not unlike arriving at an airplane terminal!
Hilton Madrid Airport
The hotel had an interior courtyard design.
swanky Executive Lounge
Executive Lounge happy hour selections were skimpy, so I went out for my last night of tapas...

That night we visited Bahia Taberna (5 min from the Hilton Madrid Airport location) for dinner. It was absolutely incredible. Unassuming definitely, given its suburban location, but absolutely elevated tapas with its creative menu. Plus, the price was extremely reasonable. It was the best food I had on this entire trip!
We had a 8 course tasting menu for 39 EUR. If I were to return I would probably eat at the high tables where there isn't a restriction to only order from the tasting menu. Their other tapas dishes looked impressive.
Bar + high tables out front

Excellent bread basket with refills and crumb removal (was not expecting this service from a tapas restaurant)
Appetizer 1: Sweet pea mousse with taleggio cheese
Appetizer 2: Roasted baby yukon with squid ink mayonnaise.
Award winning roasted baby squid pizza with chorizo mousse pizza sauce (not on the tasting menu, ordered separately)
Main 1: Raw scallop with shredded parmesan and soya. This was divine.
Main 2: Spanish razor clams with mayonnaise (I'm told it was an olive oil/sunflower oil mayo) with chickpeas, hummus, and a parsley aioli
Main 3: Red mullet "nigiri". Clever, instead of using rice, they used a potato quenelle. Spicy sauce and other sauce (in squeeze bottle) made from the red mullet itself
Main 4: Oxtail "ravioli" with cauliflower cream. Delish.
Dessert 1: cheesecake (very different from American cheesecake) with fresh figs, apple and pear slices
Dessert 2: deconstructed tiramisu with chocolate shavings. YUM.
Dessert 3: house-made chocolate rum truffles
Followed by quite possibly the highlight of the night, the awesome bill holder!
