Some shots of the entertainment screen:

And the meals. Now that you could see the meals options inside the JED lounge one could guess that what you get on board is actually very close to what you can get in the lounge.

The post departure drink and today's menu:

And the meals:

Finally (for this report) - Welcome to South Africa! I shall say South African Embassy is most bureaucratic one I visited the same I shall say about the immigration officers: the lady on arrival insisted that I literally hold the return ticket next time (the e-ticket on mobile did not work) but she let me in at least... No much stimula to ever come back to South Africa actually...

An 18 hour stopover without any alcohol must have been tough.

Thanks for an interesting report on an airline that's hardly been reviewed here... not sure I would rush to take them, but sounds like the price can hardly be beat!

Thanks for writing this interesting report, SV does not get much coverage on Flyertalk, but I think your report shows it's OK and not much better.

That's unfortunate, I had a much easier experience entering South Africa - I was only there for a couple of hours in Jo'burg airport but the immigration officials didn't ask much about tickets (I was connecting onward to a separate ticket), they let me straight in (as a tourist visitor, not transit). Very easy and the immigration official was much more interested in joking with his mate next to him than subjecting me to bureacracy.

I don't think it has changed since I flew them.

Actually, it looked from the pics like there was Budweiser in the lounge fridge. Surprising, since I thought alcohol was illegal in Saudi Arabia, but perhaps there is an exception for travelers/foreigners.

Nice report, but why didn't you just get the visa/hotel for one day? I think it would have been nice to see a little bit of SA instead of waiting in the lounge for 17 hours.

It's really nasty stuff. I tried some last year in the SV RUH lounge - it was truly undrinkable.

Great report Keter!
