Cool TR. I'm pretty surprised they have the new F on this route, because the flights to ICN, HKG, BKK, and NRT have the old F. Does anyone know why?
With a full load, max range on the A333s is about 8400km, while on the A343s, it's 10500km.
HKG/BKK/NRT are all above 9000km. DEL/BOM are 6000-6500km.
The major difference is F ... J is the same on both aircraft.
And A340 still has a pretty comfortable F. It was booked 8/8 on my ZRH-HKG flight (including myself on US miles, but doubt that more than a couple of us were awards). And our routing that day was hovering at about 10000km, so no way a full A330 could have made it.
Despite DEL/BOM having empty F, I haven't seen it available with UA miles. Has LX closed even this route to only M&M members?

It sure looks like it. I was just glancing around for space in May 2013. Even routes that were wide open just a month or two ago, such as PEK/PVG/NRT/BOM-ZRH, show no O availibility now. I really wish I booked it then.
