DTW has four - two each 4/22 and 3/21, even though they are all on the same heading of 215 (IIRC). 3L/21R became 4R/22L when 4L/22R opened.

MEM has three 18/36.

DTW (4) - 21R, 21L, 22R, 22L, etc.

DEN (3)

IAD (3)

ORD (3)

DFW (5) - Two pairs of runways close to each other. One other outlier.

LAX (4) - Two pairs of runways close to each other.

ATL (5) - Two pairs of runways close to each other. One other outlier.
28, 27L, 27R, 26L, 26R

Now, which airports have runways that are perpendicular to each other? (90 degrees?)

Good luck trying to figure this out. Runways have numbers that are related to their actual magnetic heading.

PHL RNWY 26, 27L and 27R all have the same heading: 267.7degrees
MDW RNWY 31L, 31R and 31C are 316.5, 316.5 and 316.4 respectively
Paris CDG RNWY:
8R 85.0
8L 85.1
9R 86.0
9L 85.3

Not a "major airport" for a while yet, but check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dubai_W...tional_Airport

"Dubai World Central will include: 6 parallel runways, 4.5 kilometres (2.8 mi) in length, each separated by a distance of 800 metres (2,600 ft)."

AMS has three parallel North/South runways:

18L/36R (aka Alsmeerbaan), 18C/36C (aka Zwanenburgbaan) and 18R/36L (the infamous Polderbaan, 15 minutes taxi time from the terminal).

As an aside, are the Dutch the only ones to give names to their runways?

MCO has 4 parallel runways. They are positioned as two pairs on opposite sides of the terminal.
