Would a fellow F be out of line to express how repulsed I am by cutting of finger nails in public? There didn't seem to be a collection device...so little chunks of 6A are just blasting around everywhere in the cabin. As least she has stopped now. Is there an etiquette rule about this?

I think one snarky remark about how unsanitary the remnants of one's nosepicking fingernails are would stop the offender in their track...

It's an AA topic since I am sitting on AA metal. I agree it's tangential but the flight was delayed, my drink was empty, I am still tired from my skiing trip to taos and I had time to kill. What better way to do it than to post on the AA forum?
I agree that being first class and being in first class are not always correlated.
I love clipping my nails, but keep the habit to the airport area, while awaiting boarding and don't consider it a negative. The definition of bad habit (in all service classes), not necessarily in this order are: talking too loud in the cabin, leaving window shades open on night flights (or the reverse), putting your feet on the seats, storing your shoes in overhead cabins and throwing used, cluttered newspapers on the floor.
nail cutting is no different from hand shaking.... germs are the same... it is psychological that one thinks there are differences in the germs.. the lavoratory handles are worse, trust me

Pre 9/11: I flew from SEA to DFW in a bulkhead first class seat. A young, teendaged girl painted her toenails and proceeded to spill the nail polish all over the seat, bulkhead and carpeting. Her father (she kept calling him "Dad") just sat next to her and did nothing. Back in the day, my parents would have horsewhipped me or my siblings for doing anything so disgusting.
