Talking Business - RTW

Hi all,
Am new to the board and to some of the lingo/abbreviations so apologies if I sound naive or am posting in the wrong place!
My GF and I are in the UK looking to book RTW business class tickets and have seen some info about ticketing it out of other cities being cheaper.

Our very rough itinerary or destination list is as follows:
LHR
BCN
CAI
DBX
JHB
TNR
SIN
SYD
AKL
LIM
LAS
JFK
LHR!

which is ambitious, but a bit of a stake in the ground.

Can anyone point me at a thread that discusses the best place to ticket from, which alliance to travel with for points (we are both QF members but cleared out accounts for our last trip!) and suggestions for improvements/omissions from our itinerary! Have tried the usual searches in the forum any got lots of useful tips and tricks but nothing specific to circumstances.

One more thing - we already have return flights LHR-JHB so we could ticket from JHB if its cheaper but we need to move the dates on those tickets this week to suit our new plan :-(

Thanks in advance

Flyertalk has three forums devoted to the three major airline alliances and they contain many threads relating to RTW tickets booked with each alliance. Reading those threads will hopefully provide some answers for you and they are the best spots to ask RTW-related questions. Here's a link to each:
OneWorld
SkyTeam
Star Alliance

Good luck with your trip planning and welcome to Flyertalk!
