How do I become an air courier and/or flight attendant?
I've heard stories about there being people who are paid (or given free airfare) to carry packages for businesses that want their packages (with documented and verified contents of course) escorted onto planes. Does anyone know anything about this?
Also, does anyone know the best route to becoming a flight attendant?
Basically, I'm asking how do I go about getting a job where I get to fly to a lot of different places... I really like traveling, but the extent of my travels during my 27 years is a very confined area within 6 states (no international).

I think what you're looking for is how to become an Air Courier.
But, regardless, I'm moving your thread to our TravelBuzz! Forum where I'm sure you'll receive some suggestions.

Yahoo ran this story last year about it with some links at the bottom that may help you, though not sure it's a real popular thing anymore. Use to be great, you flew carrying stuff for strangers, and dropped it off on the other end, but security and world wide reliable delivery has put an end to most of that.

With regard to becoming a flight attendant, I know Emirates is keen to recruit staff from just about anywhere who are willing to relocate to Dubai. They hold recruitment days in lots of cities all the time and there's heaps of info on their website:

Having said that, I don't think being a FA is the glamorous career it once was. I have two extended family members who work as FAs and a friend who does as well and none of them say positive things about it. In particular, their complaints usually revolve around the declining treatment of staff by their respective airlines and difficulties in maintaining a decent social/personal life around their schedules. They are all studying quite hard to get themselves better jobs.
I do get what you're after though. At the moment I'm in IT (which I've worked in for about 8 years now) and would jump at any job that had me travelling on a regular basis or that offered me a substantial change from what I'm currently doing. Sadly, those jobs seem to few and far between, but I live in hope...
I often wonder what other jobs people on these forums have that give them so much travel.

No desire to be an FA, and the air courier thing never seems to be between city pairs I'm interested in unfortunately.
