The Washington Huskies usually charter an AS plane for the football team and fly either AS or UA for the rest of the teams.

Not NYU - they do not play D1 lacrosse. Bobcats are Quinnipiac U.

When I was at UNC in the late 80s, we flew a Piedmont charter to away games. The bus would go out onto the tarmac and we'd board the plane..no security or anything.

Of course, when we played Wake, dook, and State we would take a bus. A trip to Winston seemed like an eternity if you happened to be wedged between a 285 lb. lineman and the window.

Miami Heat have a custom 727, saw a thing on it on TV.

The Dolphins chartered a NW 747 for their flight to LON. I suspect they fly commercial charters.

Anahiem Angles of Los Angeles but really in Orange County fly (or flew) WN charters - they got into a big flap over a WN flight was cancelled to accomidate the Angels flight when their plane had a mechanical problem.

Close friend who played football told me back in the 80s that the Big 10 had a charter that was shuffled around to shuttle teams for longer distance games.

For shorter distance games they often bused it.

Blackhawks used to have a travel manager that spent entire day booking commercial flights, hotels, dealing with per diem, etc. Again, this was in the 90s, so they may fly charter now.
