New A-380 Pics

This site has a collection of the A-380's most recent visit to Iqaluit (neé Frobisher Bay). The text is in French:

...but you can visit a humourously-translated version here (Via google babelfish):

"Famished engineers were made deliver food of a popular snack"

Probably cheaper / easier to do cold-weather testing in the frozen north than build a giant freezer

Assume it's to make sure the doors still open, the engines still start after a night in the cold etc. I recall watching "21st Century Jet" where they did similar things with the 777 - i.e. coat it in six inches of ice and make sure the doors still popped open.

Cheers,

PS For those who are interested, today in Iqaluit the high is minus 29, sunrise is at 8:36 and sunset 14:56.

According to...

http://www.tetracom.ca/transtalk/?p=721

...it's because of the relatively dry, very cold weather and its 2,745 metre runway. Might also help that some of the federal bureaucrats may speak both French and English.

Nice pictures!

Cant wait to see the "apparatus" with installed seats in 2 weeks!

Must be a big event in our frozen north to lighten up their dull winter

Now those interiors are going to be a lot closer to what we will experience than all the glossy artist's renderings we've seen! Nice shots...now I've gotta head out into similar weather down here!
