Nice starter ^

I actually saw this question posed on another forum where DFW-DAL and SFO-OAK were put forward but of course these are not direct flights. I am sure with the knowledge in FT we will get a definative answer for a direct flight

I think Continental does a flight from Houston Hobby up to George Bush International.

ACA/United used to fly IAD-BWI at 45 miles. As a "no cost" connection, it was a great way to increase your sector count. When faced with poor weather or bad delays, they'd often send passengers by taxi instead!

Sadly, it is no more.

Not in the US, but before there was a causeway between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, there used to be regular flights from Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, to Bahrain. (I couldn't find any flights now, so they may no longer exist.) The causeway is about ~ 15 miles and my recollection is that the entire flight was about 20 miles, airport-to-airport. At the time I lived there (mid-1980s), I think people used to describe the flight as one of the most expensive on a per-mile basis.

Another one for the list - ACK - Nantucket Memorial Airport to HYA - Barnstable Muni-Boardman/Polando Field Airport

34miles with hourly service

Outside the US, it's Loganair's two-minute flight between the islands of Westray and Papa Westray in Scotland's Orkney Islands. There is no meal service.
