Pretty thorough list of lounges worldwide (able to be sorted by field headers...i.e. country, city, alliance, etc.)

Travel Websites

Since a lot of my travel is outside the US - mainly Europe / Asia-Pacific I tend to look at sites based in those countries for better deals. The US sites tend not to be competitive in these regions.

Anyway, here's my list compressed into a few directories for ease of use:

National Tourism Offices - Worldwide

TourismRankings

Europe - Last Minute [ LM ] & Year Round [ YR ] Hotel Offers

Cheaper than Hotels - LM / YR All year coverage
Wotif - LM - 28 days
Active Hotels -LM/YR -All year
Venere - YR

Asia / Pacific - Last Minute [ LM ] & Year Round [ YR ] Hotel Offers

Cheaper than Hotels - LM / YR 365 day coverage
Wotif - LM up to 28 days
NeeditNow - LM up to 21 days

Inside the US the above list looks superb and i can't see any that i can add to.

Seat availability

In Fare Bucket Availability - seatcounter SchmutzigMSP posted:

I set up an availability tool for FlyerTalkers that works just like the old Carlson availability tool. You can find it here:

http://availability.publicbackup.com/

I tried it. It worked for me. Thought it was worth reposting here.

Also tried SeatCounter.com. It too worked for me.

Did not compare the results though.

The tool given to us by mshaikun in the last post compares very favorably with the information available at expertflyer.com .

At any rate, it nailed my flight FLL-ATL-SDF on Tuesday morning and I presume that it works very well for more destinations than Louisville.

Seat Counter

The thread at Fare Bucket Availability - seatcounter is the best place for updated info on sites showing seat availability. I will not repeat future postings from it here and encourage you to check it out as even now there is information there that is not repeated here.

I am looking for award seating for a KLM flight around 60 days out with 9 open business clas seats. Cannot see award availability online and calls to DL (that's where the miles are) are met with no award seats available. Wish there was a free tool or a pay per use tool that would let you monitor award availability. I'll just keep calling.

Best Search Site for Asia

I am looking for suggestions on which of the consolidated search sites is best for intra-asia travel? I know I have used one site in the past that was similar to kayak.com or farecompare.com but included a lot more asian airline options like the domestic chinese carriers. Kayak.com and farecompare.com don't seem to include anything but Air China, China Southern and Shanghai airlines. I know that the other site included many others such as Shandong Airlines, Dragon Air and others.

Try www.rentalcodes.com

It has the promo codes of many of the car rental companies, and of hotels.

Another one, which compares the rental rates of several car rental companies simultaneously is:

http://www.nowcarrental.com/

What is that website, owned by Travelocity that allows you to look at flexible dates for international trips? It has some sort of strange sounding name, I saw it on here the other day somewhere and can't find it now...
