[quote=KVS;9433629]In the KVS Tool, award availability for all supported *A carriers is uniformly shown as FS (First Award), CS (Business Award), and YS (Economy Award).[quote]
Believe the KVS Tool pulls *A award data from the NH website but does not translate that data to actual booking codes or quantify the actual number of seats available.
Any reason why the KVS Tool couldn't entertain a custom query which would return an enhanced display containing both revenue and award booking class availability? That seems to be what many of us really want!

While neither option is particularly useful to the majority of users, one can both translate the data into the actual booking classes, as well as determine the actual number of seats available by following the relevant instructions in the KVS Tool User Guide/FAQ.

Except for a very few carriers, regular and award booking classes do not mix and cannot be a part of the same query.
If your question is restricted to United, then the answer is as follows:
First (Free) = XF/"R"
First (UG) = NF/"X"
Business (Free) = XC/"O"
Business (UG) = NC/"I"
Note that there are actually two booking classes for each award category.
That's because United's internal systems allow some special two character booking classes (XF/NF/XC/NC) which don't work in most other booking engines including large GDSs, e.g. Abacus, Amadeus, Apollo, Sabre and Worldspan and/or major web sites, e.g. Expedia, Orbitz and Travelocity.
In either case, it's almost impossible to look at inventory levels for these booking classes.
Thanks Jet Yi, it's very much appreciated! Does anyone else know the award booking classes for SQ and AC?
Cheers!
I always keep my time set to: "(any)" in the tool...
By the way, welcome to FT, Michael! (db8us!)
Note that I just tried this with my Platinum subscription, and Apollo is only showing the same info. (1 flight, LH 1611)
In Sabre I see LH757.
The exact meaning of "(Any Time)" varies by Engine/GDS.
As mentioned in the KVS Tool FAQ, "If the flight departs very early (e.g. 03 [am]) or very late (e.g. 23:50), you may need to specify a specific value in the [Time:] field to make such a flight appear":
I am getting an error message that shows "Initialization Error" "" when performing a search for availability. Is anyone else experiencing this? I can search regular fares through Sabre: ITN or Galileo: ETR, etc. however need to check *A awards availability.
Will very much appreciate if someone is able to advise ASAP if they are experiencing the same issue.
On a side note, is there a way of searching award availability by month rather than searching through each day?

An alert regarding this issue has been posted on the KVS Tool Homepage on 26 Mar.
