When you turn the TV on, it is tuned to the porno channel. When you surf off to another channel, you can never get back there - you have to turn off the TV and turn it on again to get your kicks.

Something similar happened to us at the Hyatt at Disneyland over Thanksgiving. I was watching a movie and surfing during the commercials and came across low rent porn (these women should have paid us to look at them undressed). I checked in on the kids room to see what channel they were watching, but they had already turned off the lights/TV. I suppose I should have called down to the desk to let them know their TVs had gone haywire but never got around to it.

Those of us who run consulting teams, where the expenses are billed on to the client with copies of the hotel account, may well be familiar with the hassle of finding that one of the team has had one of these films (in one case one every night for a week!). Contact hotel, get fresh copy of bill without The Evidence faxed over, deduct amount from employees' expense claim, write Priv&Conf memo to employee - it takes about 2 hours. So has anyone found a way to disable such films for supposed adults ??!!
Is the problem the fact that the employee was watching movies every night, or that he was watching dirty movies every night?
I ask because I've heard that these nasty flickers usually only post on the hotel bill as a "Movie" and never actually show the title of the film (a fact that is listed on-screen as an obvious "selling point" to purchase them).

Right up there with "Shaving Ryan's Privates" and "Crouch Behind Her, Hide The Dragon"</font>
Perhaps the trick is to check the prices of these movies and to find the one or two that match the price of the regular movies. There are always some cheaper than the others I think. Of course you might end up watching Daisy Does Dallas #39 rather than something more new and exciting... but there ya go.

Yes. But unfortunately the hotel had "£10" films and "£25" films. You can guess which rate applies to which type, and what were the amounts on the bill in this case.
Oh, and PremEx, I know you're unwittingly getting a hard time over this (!) but I just notice that you refer to my employee as a "he", although I didn't actually specify in the original post. And as PointsGirl seems to be well up to speed on such matters it seems such films cater equally to both genders.
PS - it was a "he"!!

Oh my gawd! The next thing these "religious fanatics" will probably do is to fly airplanes into tall buildings, serve kool-aid laced with cyanide to their members, provide extra-special private-room attention to their pre-teen alter boys, church secretaries etc.
At the hotel where I usually stay in Berlin (Ambassador) I'm always asked at checkout whether I would like the "room services" on a separate bill.
Another point: I've also found porn movie titles to be especially original/tacky/funny, and I've wondered whether there is someone like a consultant whose job it is to think up these titles. It can't be too easy to do.
I am sure the hotels in Utah classify R rated movies as XXX.
It seems to me that it is much safer to have a person enjoying an X rated movie in their hotel room vs going out on the town looking for action. These religous nuts that want to ban these are only doing so becuase they are worried that other people are having more fun than they are.
