Why pay for air for your tires? Free air website?

I hate to pay for air to add to tires. This encourages riding with underinflated tires since who wants to pay just to add 2 psi or so of air?

There are gas prices websites and speed trap websites. However, is there a free air directory?

What's the URL of the speed trap website?

What's the URL for the gas price website?

(BTW, I agree: seems ridiculous to have to pay for air. Fortunately, whenever I've needed it, I've been able to find it for free.)

Boring technical point here, it's not he air you are paying for but the compressor to pump it up.

Back in the days of old-style service stations they would always have a compressor anyway for the workshop, and it was nothing to run another air line outside. There was no real cost. Nowadays you need a special piece of equipment just to do this.

I always remember seeing a guy at a service station once, he was having a kids party later that day and had brought down 100 balloons to inflate!

Some states, such as mine, require that the air and water thingy be free, at least with a puchase. If not buying anything they they tend to either charge 25 or 50 cents.

A good bicycle pump (the one for home use with the feet pegs) will do the job for free if you supply the labo(u)r.

In PA, Sheetz stations have free air. Also free at the gas kiosk at Giant food stores.

I notice that the 'bargain' (Speedway) gas stations seem to have free air, while my nearby Mobil station charges. Granted I think they will 'comp' you with a gas purchase, but then I have to go inside and perhaps wait in line.

Help! I've fallen in status and I can't get up.

Take your car to America's tire company in CA, or Discount Tire company outside of CA, and they'll pump your tires for free.

In fact, I've had several flat tires fixed for free there, and they also rotate your tires for free as well. This applies even if you've never purchased your tires from them.

This is the reason I always buy my tires from this company.

TMK California gas stations are required to provide free air to paying customers. All you to do is ask and they give you a quarter/token

We don't have them up here in CT. Hence the local exclamation, No Sheetz!!
