Flying on the A380

Hey guys
Just as an once in a lifetime experience I would like to fly on an A380 from Heathrow to Europe and back again! (Or could stretch to New York!) are there any airlines which do this? I know planes can change up to departure time but it would be nice to fly the beast short haul.

Thanks B52

You have to fly to YVR, SIN, DXB, KUL, BKK, LAX, HKG, JNB, IAD, SFO, MIA, PEK, AUH.

There has been a rare flight or two to FRA from LHR but that hasn't happened in 4 years.

Air France flies an A380 between JFK and CDG. Some years back I found very cheap flights between JFK - MAN that routed through CDG on the 380.

I'm not aware of any airline operating A380 flights between London and the remaining Europe. Many operators have been testing and training on short haul routes, but I would imagine that AF,BA and LH crews are sufficiently trained by now to not need that anymore.

Try your luck on long haul. I believe that every A380 operators flies the A380 at least seasonally to/from Europe. On another note: Flying the A380 is no more different than flying an equally/more modern aircraft.

Heathrow is in Europe and there are no intra-European flights on A380s. You'll have to go somewhere long-haul.

+1

Get some Alaska miles (or just pay EK) and fly USA-DXB-LHR in two A380's

This post belongs in bad OMNI. As the poster is well aware, people in Britain "go to Europe" meaning the Continent, and not Ireland, and that has been standard usage for decades. It's only since the referendum that Europhiles choose to make snarky comments about it.

As to the A380, it's a great plane (in every sense, and really worth experiencing if the opportunity is there.

The shortest ex-EU A380 flights will be to the US East Coast or to the middle east on various aircraft and via various access points. The A380 is an "experience" that I like especially if flying in Y. The downstairs window seats are great for sleeping if you tend to lean to sleep like I do.

One of the best Y or J A380 experiences, in my opinion, is JFK-FRA on SQ though with the new IAH-MAN flight coming into effect special pricing may be on the market.

Not in Europe but LHR-DXB on EK or QF, and LHR-DOH on QR are relatively short flights on A380 from London.

IAH-MAN is 77W not A380.

For those of you who are A380 fans and have not seen the 360 degree cockpit tour, here it is.
