Based on their NZ website which records seat pitch in centimeters, the figures have been rounded up to 32-33" (from 81-83cm).

The 34" pitch in SkyWider on JAL is superb. Best I've had in economy since flying KE several years ago. The seats are also 19.5" wide in this configuration.

Can a 777-300er carry 500 people in a 2 class configuration with 31 inch seat pitch and 10 abreast configuration, while still having full lie flat seats in business at 7 per row?

I don't think so..
ACs HD 77W (probably the worst offender in service today) has 458 seats, with seven rows of business class in front of the L2 doors and the PE cabin behind. Swapping the 24 PE seats for 40 economy seats would result in 474 seats. Using a denser business class product in that space - something like six rows of UAs 2-4-2 seating as on their 772 - would gain a few more seats as well, but still not 500.

Not lie-flat, but something resembling business class seats on both JAL and ANA in domestic configurations of the 777-300.

JAL's configuration is 500 seats, ANA's is 514:

BR for the win. New deliveries still at 9 across. And what? 33" pitch? And with WIFI now?

J got a bit worse (bathrooms got smaller), but I'll take Wifi over that. Plus, BR FA's... = uhh....frick it's against FT rules to write what I want to

Would agree with the Alitalia 777 being more cramped than others. That being said, I've never had an Alitalia flight that wasn't pure misery.

This is being retrofitted nonetheless in the J cabin, so it'll hold less than 458 (I would guess) post reconfiguration.

Is 1 CR per 80 or 70 passengers an acceptable ratio for 777-300er economy? Air Canada's 777-300er economy section has this ratio. What is the seat pitch for ANA domestic economy?

Assuming "CR" means crew member in this context the rule is one per 50 seats. But that's just the number required for overall safety reasons; there is no rule about how many need to be stationed in which cabin for serving meals or such.

CR means lavatory. Is 1 lavatory for 80 or 70 seats acceptable for a 777-300er economy?

For other's context, it's a Philippines term for restroom/lavatory, analogous to "Water Closet/WC" in Europe.

Interesting - you learn something new every day. Perhaps I should start sprinkling in German terms and abbreviations if we're going that random ;-)
