Three hour (possibly airside) wait MIA - any ideas?
Hey everyone,
I'm due to fly into MIA next week from JFK, but will have a three hour wait on the rest of my party arriving at the airport before we head to Palm Beach.
I'll have checked in baggage with me, so am presuming I'll have to clear security to collect it before my wait begins.
Is that right? And if so, is there much landside to keep me entertained? Or has anyone got any advice on how to kill the time? Any help appreciated!

its risky for Latin american cafe 2000 is not too bad and its located close by, on 42 Avenue. Its about the same quality as the famous cuban food of la careta or Versailles in Little Havana but closer.

It might be a moot point if your flight is delayed.
There is a La Carreta Café inside Terminal E outside security on the Baggage Claim Level that serves almost everything the original restaurant does in Little Havana.
If you want to leave the airport for a few hours, you can leave your luggage at a Luggage storage on the Departure level near the Airport hotel in Terminal E. Many people head out to the Dolphin Mall about 20 minutes from the airport. Also, there are two casinos a few minutes away, Magic City Casino (www.magiccitycasino.com) and Casino Miami (www.casinomiamijaialai.com) if you are interested in that type of entertainment.

+1 for dolphin mall - it's close enough and there usually isn't too much traffic between those POI.
However, Dolphin mall isn't necessarily anything too special... but if you like shopping like my GF.. any shopping mall is special

Getting bags a MIA can be a near hour experience, particularly if yours comes out towards the end. Assuming you are closer than to two hours going to the Dolphin Mall or anywhere else close by just won't be worth the hassle. Walk up to near Concourse E where there are some bench seats, load a movie or get a good book and just chill.
