The start of our adventure 34 years ago was an Eastern Airlines ...remember them.. Unlimited mileage award. Married in Chicago.. we were very young, and off to Cape Canaveral, Disney, New Orleans, Mexico City, TaX co, Acapulco, Atlanta, and Washington DC for three weeks. Since then, been to every continent except Antarctica and enjoyed every time and still en joy each other.

My honeymoon was 32 years ago and we went to Ranch House for dinner. Travelled the world together since then, but never an official honeymoon.

My parents and my old uncles (all 45+ years marriage), all spent their honeymoons at some touristic destination about 4-5 hours distance (driving or by bus).

I guess overseas honeymoon is a kind of recent (ok, not so recent...) thing. ^

One of the cheesy Pocono resorts with the round beds and champagne glass tubs. It was so bad we still laugh about it. (The resort not the honeymoon.)

Fortunately, we are sending my son and his fiancee' to Aruba in a week when they get married.

We went to NYC for a week. Mr. rstlsgirl had just gotten an MBA in finance, so I took him to Wall Street. Figured that was about as sexy as it got!

My new wife and I went to Turtle Island in Fiji in 2003. We enjoyed it so much that we are booked for our 4th visit next June after 2 weeks in Australia!

Germany, but...

Wife wanted see the castles. Told all the Germans we were on our honeymoon, and they smiled.

Stopped in at an Italian place in Black Forest for pizza, told them the same thing, and we couldn't buy a drink or food. They fell over themselves taking care of us.

Moral of the story: Italy for honeymoon (or anytime!).

Not so sure of that - my parents went to Hawaii before settling in London over 60 years ago now.

Didnt go to those exotic locations mentioned above.

Went to Sapporo, Hakodate, Otaru, Furano, pretty much the entire southern and central part of the island of Hokkaido, Japan.

We got married while in college so 'limited' budget doesn't even begin to describe it.
We drove from Houston to Taos, NM and a week in a b&b in the ski valley, in August, so lots of hiking and horseback riding.
