Ever been on a doomed plane?

Has anyone been on a plane that has later had an accident? For example, I was on G-YMMM twice in 2007 - as BA214 BOS-LHR and BA119 LHR-BLR - before it crashed as BA38 in Jan 2008. Also have been on N536JB BOS-CLT in 2006. Both were great A/C.

N536JB was hardly a "doomed" jet ... yes it was involved in a notable landing accident, but was quickly repaired and returned to service

> in Oct 1993 I flew on 757 N644AA which was operating AA77 on 11 Sep 2001

> in Jul 1981 while working as a flight test analysis engineer for Boeing I was responsible for an avionics test on a 737-200 before delivery to T.A.M.E. of Ecuador; two years later it crashed into a mountain a couple miles from its destination of Cuenca

> in Dec 1972 I flew on 747 N739PA which was destroyed by a bomb over Lockerbie Scotland in 1988

I was on the AA A300 N14053 that crashed after takeoff from JFK in Nov 2001, in the summer of 2000 on a flight from LHR to JFK. Interestingly, we had to turn back to LHR about an hour west of Ireland after several strong shudders from the plane that the captain couldn't explain.

Yes. Years back, we flew New England airlines many times during the summers. We took a particular on a Friday (I may have the days off the week wrong) flown by a pilot we were familiar with. The next day, the same flight went down after take off and the pilot and one passenger died.

ZOIKS! Please post all your future flights so we will know NOT to book anything after you have flown on it.

if you look at Seat2A's flight memory (link at bottom of his post) you will see that he has logged THOUSANDS of flights over ... well, let's just say "many" ... years

the fact that he can point out twenty-some aircraft of those thousands that later met with a career-ending accident is really no more than an example of applied statistics

my four accident aircraft (and yes there may be a few more) cover 2200+ flights to date

Additionally a lot of Seat 2A's aircraft crashed 20 or so years later in the ownership of lesser known operators

No, it was New England Airlines, a flight out of Westerly, RI.

It is funny/odd what the brain retains. the first thing I thought of when posting on this thread was how the pilot had brilliant blue eyes and was very handsome.

Have flown in excess of 1,300 sectors and the only one I am aware of is the Copterline S76 OH-HCI that met an untimely demise in the Baltic Sea in August 2005 with no survivors. According to my records, I flew it on the exact same route 3 times in 2002 and 2003.
