After flying 200k+ miles per year, I've developed a strange tick. My doctor asked me if I've eaten any highly processed cheese lately. I sheepishly responded, "well, maybe a piece or two."
With that said, I'm sitting in a lounge that makes any of the UCs look like a combination of Versailles and the Hermitage.
I'm in the contract lounge at DPS (Bali). After a great holiday, Ms. BearDown and I are on the way home on QR (reward booked pre-9/15).
The food is worse. The furniture is worse. The alcohol is worse. The view is worse. And...here's the kicker...the service is worse!
Right now I'm really jonesing for a handful of mixed covered raisins where I can pick out the yogurt covered and just eat the imitation raisenettes.
So, and I know this is highly subjective, and also nearly impossible to accomplish...
Can anyone name another lounge that is worse than any UC? Bonus points if it is international.

....
watch out for those roaches also, having seen them personally on multiple occasions if i do use any of the lunges it is only to have seat....no food or drinks for me...
though i don't think it is fair to compare DPS lounges where neither of them are run by the airlines

I was at the TG lounge in SIN recently, connecting to a TG flight. The furniture was shabby, the food was sparse, and the club was small with restrooms outside.
I had not yet received a boarding pass for the TG flight, and the lounge agent could not even print a BP for her own flight. She directed me downstairs to get it. That level of service made me feel at home, just like I was at a Presidents Club.

Which lounge was that in Bali? The Premier lounge? I was there this afternoon. Wouldn't call it the worst. I didn't see any rats, which I can't say for IAD UC. And there was sunlight, so that beats most of the dungeon UCs out there. Didn't eat the food, none of it looked better than the amazing food I had in Bali.
Sitting in the SIN SilverKris lounge now, and enjoying this place.

The Qingdao International Airport lounge (TAO) is the worst international lounge I've ever been to. They don't even have coffee and in the lounge, and the furnitures make the lounge feel like the 80s communist china. The bathroom is so dirty and i doubt it ever get cleaned since its opening, simple not usable. The UC is so much better.

There are a lot of worst places in the world than an UC. The contract lounge in Haikou, China, comes to mind. But, frankly, so do most the USAirways Clubs. The arms of the chairs, if not worn down, are filthy. I really worry sometimes in US clubs about sitting down with a white shirt or in khaki pants.

When I read the title I actually was thinking well this person has not been to DPS. Well I guess you and I are on the same page.

But you can sit outside, smoke, and watch planes land from that lounge. And where did you find liquor? I usually have to self-serve my beer from their unattended tap, or sneak Bintangs in from outside (expensive). Have you been to the TG lounge in Chiang Mai? No view or booze, but you can get an excellent foot massage across from the entrance.

Me too! The only reason I clicked on the link, in fact. Though leaving Bali is always sad, even if they had a Concorde Room there I'd still be in a rotten mood.
Surprisingly I was just there catching the cx to hkg today at 3 pm and used the premier lounge near gate 1, not to bad...better snacks that any UC i've been to.
The only complaint I had was that they asked for 5 usd for wireless Internet access...
