Has anyone every done this: forgot about the time change while making a connection?
My spouse traveled alone today to Mexico. He had a 90 minute connection at DFW. He called, when he should have been on his last flight leg(not a good sign).....he completely spaced out with regards to the time change from PST to CST....only looking at his watch, which he forgot to set ahead 2 hours. He wandered the airport and had a leisurely lunch.
He arrived at the gate 2 hours after the flight left. He attempted to get to BJX on a later flight... but the CSR said "nothing until Dec. 24th!". Clearly rattled it began to affect his judgement. I told him I could see one seat left on the late flight to QRO ( an alternative airport for us) on the AA website. " Go back to CS and ask them to put you on that flight....". He called back to say they did, but charged him $360...a bargain to the $1008 I was seeing on the website. He now needed to go and track down his luggage which we assumed they pulled off his connecting flight when he was a no show.
Anyway.... I haven't heard back but I assume he landed safely and is now on the way to our house in San Miguel.
I'm not angry.... and glad it worked out and he didn't have to abort this trip to Mexico and come back to Seattle. But it was the ultimate ( and costly) space out.....

If you were angry, who would it be with? Not AA I hope. If AA had a flight to the same airport, I doubt there would have been a charge. I wouldn't let him travel to Europe alone if there is a connection. if he is this way with a change from PST to CST, I can't imagine what a 9 or 10 hour time difference would do... At least he made it. Although if I had a house in San Miguel, I would have a Mexican chip for my cellphone. That might make it easier for you to get an update on his status. One recommendation. When he gets on a flight, he should immediately set his watch to the next airport's timezone. Or use a cell phone, to look at time, that is set to automatically change to local time.
Closest I can come is not understanding codeshares, and almost missing a flight because I was expected to see US Air on the board, and instead I saw one of their partners. Had I not asked the GA when the US Air flight would board, I would have spent the night in Charlotte.
Now, in my defense, it was my first time flying alone and I was 13 years old, so maybe I'm not as helpful as I thought I was going to be.

angry at him...but I'm not..and certainly not AA....although I wish they would have taken pity and not charged us. He was on a FC ticket.....to make matters a bit worse he was travelling without a cellphone so every time he called it was collect from a payphone. ( Can't wait for that bill) A LOT of lessons learned on this trip.
Years ago (well before cell phones that adjusted for time zone changes), my ex did this. He had a little dinner, gave me a call, realized the error and just barely made it to his gate.
Thing is, why bother with being angry about this? It's not like he did it on purpose and I'm pretty we've all made some goofball mistakes. It's a great story and he'll be home soon enough.
I can't recall the last time I was on a flight where they haven't announced upon landing "Welcome to XXX, local time is XXX".
He did get to his final destination in Mexico last night after midnight. 8 hours late....but well before the new flight on December 24th they first offered him!
I wondered the same thing...besides the usual cabin announcement on landing aren't there clocks all over the terminal including the bottom of every monitor?
He must have been day dreaming about the good Mexican food he is about to have........
....OR you think you are leaving on a certain date only to find out that your flight left yesterday!
Ah yes, I have been there. A decade or so ago, I had phoned to change the date of my flexible return LHR-ORD. Then turned up at LHR on the new date to be told that my ticket had actually been changed to yesterday rather than today, that I had been a no-show yesterday and that today's flight was full. Somehow I persuaded them that the error was their's (which I believe it was, but I had no evidence), they over sold to add me to the flight and I ended up being the one op-upped
This sort of thing can't happen so easily in the modern age of internet and email.

The most serious case of screwing up the time (according to a book I just read) was during the Bay of Pigs invasion. Some Cuban pilots were using American B-26's, flying from Costa Rica (IIRC) to support the landings. They forgot about the different time zones and their arrival was off by an hour.
Somewhat embarassing.
