Since a toothbrush from WalMart is going to cost about $2 anyway, if I had forgotten to pack my toothbrush, I would not only not mind paying $2 for one, I'd be very happy to see a toothbrush vending machine in a convenient spot in my hotel.
Either way, if you've forgotten your toothbrush and brushing your teeth is important to you, shelling out a mere $2.00 for a toothbrush seems like a no-brainer.

I've seen vending machines with amenities (toothbrush, comb, laundry soap) in some low end properties. Often it's the same machine that has the candy bars and chips.
Although many properties will give you a toothbrush, the ones I've seen are so bad as to be nearly useless.
Would I use a toothbrush vending machine? Almost certainly if I wanted a toothbrush and there was no other practicable way of getting one at that time.
Amenities vending machine machines have been around for decades, mainly in * or ** properties. If you want to brush your teeth and forgot/lost your own brush, $2 is not exactly a major investment for good dental hygiene.
More interesting to me was the toothbrush and mouthwash vending machine in the ladies' room in an upscale London restaurant. My companion informed me the gents' had one as well. Perhaps it was to compensate for their garlic shrimp?
