Spain has some absolutely amazing places to see. Was in Merida for week, really nice.

I also was in Toledo a few years ago; that is an amazing place!

- The Outer Banks in North Carolina. Specifically, the Wright Brothers Monument, Cape Hatteras Light and the beaches down by Rodanthe where no one goes.

- The Grand Canyon (said a lot, but I was blown away by it and I'm a former Arizona resident and noted skeptic!)

- The Freedom Trail in Boston.

- The Ferris wheel at the Crater Amusement Park in Vienna.

Snorkeling in Ko Phi Phi, Thailand. I can't remember the stop but you can swim through a little tunnel with literally hundreds of fish around you... they do that swirl thing when you move closer.

Couldn't agree more. Besides the usuals of MAD and BCN (which I love) I've done Sevilla, Granada, Toledo and Segovia. (drove through Merida) All great cities with much to offer. Also drove down to Gibraltar and took the ferry to Africa. I guess you could say I have a soft spot for Spain. Next on the list is N. Spain and a trip to Andora...

I must say the first time I went to spain I was so amazed by the beach of BCN and the color of the water in the Mediterranean. I've been to the Great Barrier Reef, Monte Carlo/Nice, Bali, Indonesia and Hawaii many times, but nothing compares

Some are 2nds or 3rds, but here goes:

Zion National Park, S. Utah
--go between Xmas and New Year's. The town of Springdale empties out and you can have the whole park to yourself. Better than the Grand Canyon, IMHO. Better access to amazing hiking and views.

Lizard Island, Queensland, Great Barrier Reef
--Northernmost inhabited island in Australia. Reminded me of Fantasy Island. Private, luxe and easy day trips to the best GReat Barrier Reef diving. Giant clams just off the private, gorgeous beaches.

Kunming, China
--City of Eternal Spring.

Amsterdam
--Van Gogh, Reichsmuseum, narcotourism

Sydney
--Do the BridgeClimb

Tasmania
--Wineglass Bay, Roaring Forties Blue Cheese, Salamanca Art Fair

New Orleans

London

The hike to Angel's Landing is one of my all-time favorite hikes. A bit treacherous, though. In fact, a woman fell to her death the day we were there.

If you like airplanes: The USAF Museum in Dayton, Ohio.
I've visited countless aviation museums all over the world.
Nothing comes close in terms of variety, quality, detail, accuracy and accessability.

...and it's free.

Spain was great. The drive from Sevilla to Torremolinos thru the White Villages (Arcos de la Frontera and Ronda among others) was unique.

Can you tell me why Toronto? I live near there so perhaps, as they say, familiarity breeds contempt, but I can't understand why someone would put Toronto as one of the best tourist attractions in the world. I would not classify it as one of the best tourist attractions in Canada, never mind the world.
