Best Tip You Won't Post on Flyertalk

What's the best tip for perks and enhancing your flying experience that you wouldn't think of posting on FlyerTalk because then everybody would be doing it?

You don't have to say what it is. Just give a teeny-tiny suggestion of context.

I'll only say this much about mine: it involves travelling TATL from Amsterdam.

Oh I don't mind sharing my tips - 1) Treat Airline staff like YOU'D want to be treated. 2) Remember, *you know what happens*! The agent's primary job is to do what's best for all concerned INCLUDING the airline. 3) Delays affect more than just one person - everyone HAS to be somewhere yesterday. 4) See number 1...

Wait... a constant air of superiority over those who help me get places isn't the preferred demeanor? I'm confused. What will the DYKWIA's do???

The right numbers on speed dial, and I don't mean the Medallion lines.

Don't mind sharing... I have programmed the SMS number into my cell phone along with my SM number and PIN, separated by suitable pause durations (which I may have to reprogram with the website changes...)

Very convenient when rushing thru the airport with my hands full, while trying to reschedule around a problem.

I have come across a tip that practically guarantees finding low award availability on virtually any flight (and makes the award calendar actually functional), however, in keeping with the OP's request I won't post it here.....

Get to know the DL employees that you see frequently. Remember their names. Ask them about their interests. If they do you a favor, then remember it and tell them you appreciated it.

The best tip I've gotten from FlyerTalk is to carry a stack of $10 Starbucks gift cards when travelling. Give them to DL employees that go above and beyond the call of duty.

Best tip I won't publish ..... If you like to get VDB'ed, I've worked out an algorithm that increases your chances of getting bumped from 1% of your flights to 5% of your flights.
