Maybe Im picking the wrong dates to visit but everytime I go to Lake Louise near Banff, AB its always still frozen/half-frozen.
Anyone know when are the good times to visit Lake Louise when the lake is the stunning aqua color that I see in pictures?

True, however, there are other things to do when the sun is out. If you are in Bangkok, you've got great thai food that is delicious, unique, etc. You can go to the king's palace, temples, shrines. You have go to markets. There is much else to do in Bangkok. In Hawaii, all you have is the beach and poi...
I have to say, I really didn't like the food I had in Bangkok - sweet corn ice cream - bleugh! but loved the fruit, juices, ice creams etc in Maui.

For those that thought Hawaii (Honolulu) was boring, might I suggest going to the Byodo-In Temple near the Valley of the Temples Memorial Park?
I found this place to be amazing and just as beautiful as the original 900 year old Byodo-In at Kyoto, despite being 1/2 it's original size.

I was through Wall Drug in 1982..... I actually enjoyed it as a rest break... and got my free glass of ice water... I also did Mt. Rushmore and enjoyed it, but maybe perhaps it's probably the only time I'll be going there...
I'd vote for the "World Famous Mitchell Corn Palace" (which I saw on the same trip in 1982)

I lived in San Antonio for 6 years. Went to the Riverwalk only when out of town family wanted to go. Only place I would eat was the Casa Rio.
My favorite place to eat when I go down on company business is on Broadway, right across the street from Breckenridge park/golf course,
a little hole in the wall called Carmelita's.
Great food at a fab price.^^

Seems to be a lot of jaded unromantic folks here. I haven't been to many of these places but if you can get past the tourist aspect, even Times Square is a landmark. And the Empire State Building, other than being a tall building is an art deco masterpiece and a great history and romanticism. I've not been to Mount Rushmore but I cannot imagine it's less than spectacular. And I enjoyed the San Antonio Riverwalk but keep in mind that it's in downtown San Antonio and surrounded by tourist and business hotels. It's cool none the less.

The Chrysler Building on the other hand, I thought was beautiful!

I would say the Guiness "Factory Tour" in Dublin. I thought we actually got to see the factory. Needless to say I was quite disappointed when my 20E admission fee got me a glass of beer (ewww) and a tour of a tourist trap, instead.

Hollywood Walk of Fame
That abomination glass-floored observation deck at Grand Canyon
Pretty much anything in Vegas
Mannekin Pis
and the red-light district of Amsterdam.
I found Stonehenge to be fine, though a bit smaller than expected. Still, it was worth the visit (it was also along the route from London to Bath, so I was going that way anyway - not sure I'd say the same if I went out of my way to do a day trip from London).
I know there are a few other places that I recall leaving and saying "You mean I spent good money to see that?"

- The Vatican. I waited in line nearly two hours and was seriously underwhelmed. Might be partly because I'm Jewish though
- Niagara Falls. I can't believe this used to be a huge Honeymoon destination.
- The Stratosphere in Las Vegas. I hear so many people talk about how much they love it. Of course, they were my client when I was a salesman in Las Vegas so maybe seeing the side of it others don't ruined it.
