I have noticed a few fares coming up on KVS for airlines that do not fly nor codeshare into YQR. Is there any way to book, for example, the fares noted below? If not, what might their purpose be? Thanks.

Yes, these are perfectly valid fares. For the UA fare, one of the possible routings is AC to YWG, then UA to LHR via ORD. For the BA fare, it is AC to YYZ, then BA to LHR.
You can book by calling UA or BA Res respectively.
Is anyone else having problems with the Amadeus timetable function? Since a week or two, sometimes it works, but most of the time it doesn't work, it just keeps on showing "transfering data..." but nothing ever gets transfered. I've done some trouble shooting with the tool page but it still doesn't seem to work out.
Mostly, when I first open the tool, I can do two or three searches but after that it's done. What's more, I have exactly the same problem on a different computer in my office.

Thanks for the help.
Same here. Mine is regularly timing out during a Timetable Search.

KVS is pulling inventory from the All Nippon Airways website. That shows you what Star Alliance member airlines are making available as awards to their partners (except it does not show you availability on Swiss or Air China). That's pretty much going to be a 100% match with what all Star Alliance airlines then offer to their members -- except United.
Go to the United forum here on Flyertalk and search for 'starnet'.
Lufthansa *is* offering the award seat to their partners. United just refuses to book it, and their agents say/think it is not available which isn't true. United is filtering out/blocking those seats from being booked to save money.
This is especially common with Lufthansa, and also with Thai Airways Europe - Asia, but creeps up on other routes and carriers as well.
Used to be much easier than it is today to get an agent to do a 'manual sell' where they send a message to the airline requesting the award space, and since the award space is available it comes back quickly as confirmed. But UA agents aren't allowed to do this, have gotten memos about it, and can be fired if they do.
Your best bet is to either (a) search for award space on carriers other than Lufthansa, or to try back -- sometimes the inventory will open back up / United will stop blocking, perhaps (one theory) they reach a quota in a given period of time and then lock down the award space.
So bottom line is this is not a problem with the tool. And it is not something you are doing wrong, other tran trying to redeem miles via United MIleage Plus when UA doesn't want you to.
If you were calling up US Airways or bmi or another Star carrier they would most likely happily book these flights for you.

How long have people had to wait for their registrations? I signed up to Platinum this morning then noticed it mentioned waiting 3-5 days for completion - does it generally take that long? Had been hoping to book up some flights asap but might have to cross my fingers and hope the availability stays now...

Generally I have received registration codes within 24-48 hours. YMMV.

There are intermittent issues with the Amadeus Timetable server. A tweak will be implemented in the next version of the KVS Tool, which should resolve those issues...

You can uncross your fingers now

It's always within 24 hours for Gold and Platinum-tier registration requests, except during vacation periods (in which case an alert is posted on KVSTool.com) ...
