Just a comment for those using this tool ... aside from the fact it is great!
If you are using the ITN/UA interface to see fare classes it will show all the TANGO RINGPET classes ... the ITN/CWT interface does not show "R" or "T" classes ... something to keep in mind I guess...
This I suspect is the CWT back-end issue similar to it showing only a subset of Econony seating ...

You can also use the AUA/*A access method to display those classes...

Indeed - but if I am just looking or AC flights and trying to minimize the output I find the ITN/UA interface better for that ... but you are of course 100% correct...

Just started using the latest version with Virtual PC on a Mac. Works quite well. A tad bit slower than with a PC, but having ditched my dell laptop for a PowerBook G4 it was the only option for running this. Great program and nice that there is way to run it on the Mac.
I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but I just downloaded KVS' tool and am trying it out. If I want to determine which airlines/flights have seats available for reward tickets, is it safe to say that if the class starts with an 'X' that means I could get a reward ticket in coach class?
Is there a good listing of various airlines reward class codes?
Also, I saw one airline which listed a class 'X2'. What does the number following the class mean?
gives a good rundown of Star Alliance booking classes including rewards in the first post
Great! Thanks, BlondeBomber. A point of clarification: The items listed in blue (FFP Redemption Codes) on the thread you reference... does that mean a partner award only. For example: when I see that LH economy reward code is 'X' does that mean that if I have 50K UA miles I can get that X seat of LH. But what about if I have 50K LH miles, am I sill limited to only X for a coach reward on LH itself???

Yes, the booking class code remains the same.
However, the # of seats available for sale may vary depending on who is makinbg the request: For example, when LH makes a request for X class availability on flight LH101 on 01JAN, the system may respond with X5. However, when UA makes a request for the same flight and class, the system may respond with X4...

"if I have 50K UA miles I can get that X seat of LH. But what about if I have 50K LH miles, am I still limited to only X for a coach reward on LH itself"
Yes that is generally the way it works although it seems sometimes there is more availability than the tool(s) will show, especially if you are a status member. I know with LH Miles and More, I could book a trip online but not over the phone, ie they couldn't see the available inventory at LH Miles and More while their website allowed me to book. This was important as I needed to work with the file so I booked on the internet then had Miles and More take over the file and work with me on it to get exactly what I wanted.
With UA, my experience has been that if the award class (blue letters in chart referred to) doesn't show as available in the tool, I can't get the reward seat.
