I love travel tools. They make a huge difference in my ability to effectively plan a trip. So I was very happy when FlyerTalk opened a Travel Tool forum, allowing one place to browse thru the plethora of tools that are available. I've learned so much thanks to the developers who bring tools to FlyerTalk.

This forum has not had a named moderator since its inception. The responsibility for it has been in the hands of the senior moderators. They do an amazing job, but their remit is significant and they respond more to reports than to proactively looking into a forum seeing how it can be strengthened. Thus, today, the forum has been given its first moderator, TWA884. With him looking after it, I am confident that information will be organized effectively and that members will be able to even more easily find relevant information.

Please don't be disappointed that this post comes a full six days after SanDiego1K's announcement: a quick look at the forum front page shows that new threads here typically don't get lots of views, whereas a small number of popular (and occasionally fractious) threads have hundreds of posts and have been viewed tens of thousands of times.

But many of us do check that front page occasionally, so let this "welcome" also serve as a bump to keep the thread on the front page for a while.
