Can someone help me figure this out. I am flying to Brazil soon for business.

I'm trying to force a connection through Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. It's not a hub, but I know some Brazilian airlines which operate direct flights from there.

For example, Gol flies direct every tuesday from Punta Cana (PUJ) to CNF. American Airlines & Delta both have code share agreements with Gol. I can easily get an AA or Delta flight to Punta Cana.

No matter which options I use, I cannot get a ticket YYZ to PUJ to CNF. Its impossible, and doesn't come up as a ticketing option. I could buy all legs individually if I wanted to.

What is restricting this? Does PUJ not allow connections? Does Gol not allow connections on their PUJ to CNF flight? What would be the reasons for all this?

I've been doing some research on which airlines fly direct to which cities (which may not be their hubs) and trying to force connections with code share partners, but the ticketing options do not appear. I'm trying to hack a connection by understanding the routes.

Nevermind. The option is actually there if I search deep enough. I tried for a while and couldn't get it, but I have it now.

Interesting. I'm using cheap tickets, but it's very hard to filter via my advanced criteria.
