Please submit technical support and customer service requests directly to KVS through their website.
FlyerTalk is not KVS' customer assistance venue.
The primary purpose of the Travel Tools forum is to benefit the entire FlyerTalk community.
Anything related to the KVS Availability Tool may be discussed here, including member to member requests for troubleshooting.

Where does the KVS tool get its data and is KVS authorized to provide this data in the manner it is presented?

The tool is known to access a variety of web sites, many in a manner that is not authorized. Please see the next section of this Wiki for a list of sites believed to be accessed and their data access policies (where known).

Additionally, under some conditions the tool appears to access sites via a KVS-operated back end. This means that the tool is not just a 'web browser' that runs via a user's machine. No detailed public information is available about how this works or whether any of this back-end access is authorized.Note: To edit the wikipost, please contact the moderator by sending an alert or a private message.

A qestion for KVS team or anyone familiar with KVS tool.

I don't have KVS tool and before plunging into it. Do they offer demo like expertflyer.

Basically I want a possibilty of searching all fares available from a particular origin without entering a destination.

Airlines have so many fares available that's impossible to see which city in a country could be offered for cheap by airline. Example. Instead of searching AUH to JFK. Can we just reach AUH to all of USA etc or a continent like Europe etc.

Sometimes I fly for the heck of flying and seeing a new place. Would love to see which cities are offered for cheap.

I believe this is well beyond the scope of KVS or any service. There could be thousands of published fares between one origin and even just a few destinations.

That's not the point of KVS, which has as one of its main functions the scraping/mining/accessing (whatever you want to call it) of various websites to show availability in various fare classes.

What you are talking about you'll find with something like www.google.com/flights. Then click on Explore Destinations, and you'll find the lowest fares from your home airport(s).

I have a question regarding the Mult-Day search tool. The following are the instructions:
Power Search (Multi-Day Availability Search)

Power Search can be used to locate Regular, Award or Upgrade Availability across a multiple date range.
The maximum date range is 31 days (1 month) for all Methods.
To use Power Search:
Goto the [Filter] Tab and set your Filter criteria (for example, "Availability Required in Classes FS/CS").
Return to the [Awards/Upgrades] or the [Availability] Tab.
Click the [Power Search] () button, select the desired date range, and click the [Start] button.
The Tool will initiate a series of searches across the requested date range until at least one flight matching the [Filter] criteria is found.
To continue the Power Search after it has been completed, click the [Power Search] button again.
To terminate the Power Search at any time, click the red [Stop] button (or press <Esc>).
I'm a bit confused with these instructions regarding search multiple dates. When setting the desired date range "+ [number of days]" in the Power Search button, the tool doesn't appear to give the available flights for the selected range. For example, in an Awards/Upgrades inquiry for oneworld (BA), if I select 10 Sep 2015 + 7 days, the tool will only give me the first available date with a seat in a particular class. So, if a seat is available on Sept 10, that's the only result it gives me. I would have to press Start again (or the down arrow) to find the next available day with an award seat.

Please tell us that there's a way to have the tool give you a week's worth of seats on one screen. Having to wait to press the Start button or down arrow again after each day does NOT seem to qualify as a "multi-day" search. I'd have to sit at the computer and wait 5 minutes to search for 7 days of availability. That would be no different than going to BA's website and clicking each day and waiting for the results. I was thinking I would see a monthly calendar with the available days, like with United's website.

Also, how do you save your search results? The Save button only saves the search inquiry.

Indeed, all tools/services require a specific city pair to be entered, as there could be over 1 000 000+ published Fares from a single origin point.

That is correct -- the [Power Search] function is used to automatically locate Award Availability in desired Class(es) across a Multiple date range (of up to 31 days).

If the desired Award Seats are already available on a specific date, then there is no need to use the [Power Search].

No, the [Next Day] button would simply check the following date (which may or may not have the desired Award Availability). The [Power Search] button would actually locate Award Availability (which could be days or weeks away).

[Power Search] is not an [Award Calendar] function -- it is used to automatically locate hard-to-find Awards.

If you would simply like to compare Award Availability across multiple dates, you can launch multiple instances of the KVS Tool and launch multiple searches for the desired date(s) simultaneously.

The [Award Calendar] function is currently supported by the [Awards/AC-StarAlliance] Method for *A Awards.

You can save a copy of the results in text format by clicking the [Print] button.

You do know that this is exactly what KVS is doing in the background? It simply logs in to BA.com using your supplied details , performs the searches and scrapes the results to display. (Which is in violation of BA.com T&C's which could be used to terminate your BA account...)

If you're wanting to look for BA award availability, the BA.com calendar view (NOT the award map calendar) would be much quicker and accurate.

To clarify, BA.com Calendar View only supports BA's own flights and not the 21 OneWorld member carriers that can be searched via the [Power Search] in the KVS Tool.

Definitely. For many searches also consider QF, which also offers a calendar view and has better coverage than BA (e.g. CX and JL, as well as their own flights). Just be aware that the results may include QF partners that are not in oneworld.

BA award search covers all oneworld carriers, including CX and JL. But agree that between AA, BA, QF (and JL for CX sometimes) it is relatively easy to search for oneworld award space yourself for free.

Yes, but not in the calendar view, which is what your reply to Ducati highlighted. QF probably has the most useful calendar view at the moment.

Absolutely. BA is where I usually start, unless I know that AA and BA are my only options (in which case AA.com is easiest).

@KVS
Thank you for your prompt and detailed replies. But, I have to say that I feel like I was duped with this "new" multi-day search feature. If I search for seven days and on the first day there's an available seat, then the multi-day search tool doesn't actually search multiple days. Honestly, this tool is only slightly better than searching on BA and no better than QF's search engine. And having to open seven or eight instances of the tool and manually enter every single date is cumbersome and defeats the purpose of a paid tool that should conduct multi-day searches and return with multi-day results.

I understood how KVS was extracting the information. But, it didn't cross my mind that a paid tool would be so simplistic in its delivery. Is it unreasonable to assume that the tool should search seven days (each day in sequential order) and return those results in a nice little table? Why go through the trouble of forcing the user to manually open seven instances of the tool? There's no way to have the tool to automatically search every day of the week? That doesn't seem reasonable.
