I just preordered mine for a grand total of 767 with tax and shipping from Nokiausa.

Just will have to wait till it ships but I have been waiting since last year for the phone.

I use the HTC Touch Pro but just like Windows apps -- freezes/lags and so forth.

I cannot wait to get back to a NOKIA.

Wow... Ive not heard much negative feedback on the HTC phones on these fora... seems like these units have lots of fans here on FT. Of course, symbian also has its detractors...... I guess its a coin toss issue, or...?

Well, then, let me be the first to go otherwise. Back in 2004, I used the Motorola Razr, switched to the Motorola SLVR, went to the BlackBerry 8700c, went to the Sony Ericsson w580i, went to the Blackberry 8800, then the BlackBerry 8820, went to the HTC Touch Pro (Fuze), and just gave it up for the BlackBerry Bold. Yeah, 8 phones in 4 years. Fun. I'm really demanding on my phones, and want them to perform up to par, if not better, at all times. With regards to the HTC, coming from Blackberries, there was no comparison. I stripped the ATT customization and packs, and reverted to a basic Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, and there was NO comparison whatsoever to any of the Berries in terms of device speed. The Fuze was much laggier, and overall, while the TouchScreen is nice to have, it simply wasn't worth sacrificing the usability of the device for that. I went through 6 (yes, I mean 6) Fuzes, just to make sure it wasn't just bad luck for me. After getting 6 Fuzes and spending 2 weeks with each (other than the 1 DOA that I got), I just couldn't live with it. Went and got the Bold two weeks ago, and cannot be happier.

It may just be me, but I see no comparison at all between these devices. Even though I stripped the ATT Bloat and used Advanced Config to give it a max speed boost, I'm sorry WinMo, you just didn't stand up to the test. RIM FTW!

Indeed I did. The BlackBerry is awesome, but I still can't resist the greatness of the mighty N97!

Played with one today, ignore all these "slow CPU" reports, the load time is much better than the 5800.

This is a device with a lot of potential. There are already a lot of great apps on store.ovi.com only for s60 touch.

I had a HTC TyTnII witjh the tilt screen and loved it...but it got a virus (??) and just kept freezing up, then it would not open certain apps like SMS which I use a lot and then the ear speaker just went KAPUT !!

I do not have the time to send it in to fixc and wait 3 months and then hope it is fixed. I just went out and bought the Touch Pro and now it is also strting the same issues.

Phones on AVG last me 8-10 months. That is why I like NOKIA -- durability !!

symbian - nothing wrong with it in my eyes

Store.ovi.com from Nokia sells apps, plenty of Nokia specific web services and all the widgets and apps you need for Facebook etc etc at www.ovi.com

US operators will start selling more and more Symbian products, both AT&T have announced deivces as well as Verizon.

The recent announcement with Qualcomm at WMC will also likely increase the Nokia presence in the US.
