There are 1000's of people who pre-ordered, so I think their response is sadly spot on - they'll need to get all the pre-orders shipped before any new orders will be sent out.

People have been waiting 2-3 months on this phone, so a 1 day wait is not that long.

What do you mean "problems with light sensors"... could you perhaps elaborate...??

Thanks,

Lets just say, when the backlight is supposed to turn on when I flipped the phone, it didn't. Sometimes it'll just go off like nothing's happened. In broad daylight, I can't see a thing.. At night, I can't even see the phone..

I just hope they'll come up with something to fix the software issue with the lighting as this was the same issue when I first received my N96...

Oh..... well, over on the tech forums they are saying that Nokia will come out with a Firmware update in a few weeks, so I will assume that most of the issues will be addressed.

This China vs Finland is absolute cr@p in my opinion. Same production machines, different location, thats it.

Phones are made in multiple regions sometimes, so some may not even say made in China OR made in Finland.....what do you do then?

The N97 - could have been better

Review from The Register - it's not bad but it looks far from perfect for the money:

So... does the battery of my N97 need to go through a special breaking-in charge routine or do I just charge and use normally...???

I remember another thread where I learned that these newish batteries do not have a "memory" defect.... is this correct...?

No memory effect. That's like from 10 years ago, Mr. Gaucho, when batteries tended to use different technology.
