Babbel language app

Just got this for Indonesian. It wasn't free but it's pretty cool. Instead of playing games while I'm in line now I get to practice my language skills a bit. Also, I think by paying for it I'm more apt to use it!

I've been using Anytune. It slows down music. This enables you to see how it is composed. I have also used Tenuto. This app drills you on sight reading music notation. I also use Doctor Compas. This is a beat generator for Flamenco guitar players. It does palmas and cajon in standard Flamenco beat patterns like 3-6-8-10-12. It handles all the major palos like bulerias, soleares, seguiryas, etc. I also have GuitarPro6. This app reads your tabs and notations and plays the music. You can slow it down and do speed drills. Repeat bars on certain licks that you are working as it will loop. The iPhone plugs into any amp with 1/4" adapter.

Recommend a piano app?

Did a search for this and found numerous options, both free and paid. And iTunes has over 50+ choices. Any recommendations - my wife used to play organ 30+ yrs ago and we have piano at home but she would like to play on her iPad.

Yeah I wonder about that too. How about ones which teach you?

Otherwise, I see apps which come with a bunch of songs, which raises the cost.

More organ than piano, Grantophone is a really, really cool app.

The app they use in the iPad mini commercial is GarageBand. I'm thoroughly enjoying that!

Garage Band is fun! The whole family enjoys playing with it. I like the piano with my QC15s on long flights.

My critical apps lately are (and probably have been covered by now):
- Waze (GPS directions rock when driving in cities I'm not familiar with)
- AA/UA apps for status and boarding passes
- Scan Pages (to get a pdf of my expense receipts)
- Pandora
- Skype

Flash for iPhone and Android

I haven't tried it yet, but this seems interesting, and it doesn't require a jailbreak. Seems to support full Adobe Flash.

I'm enjoying QuickOffice on my iPad, currently selling for $7.99.

It reads, creates, edits and saves Microsoft Office documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). It can connect to DropBox, Google Docs, and half a dozen other cloud services, and lets you easily move files between those services. If you are a Google Apps for Business customer you can get a version of this App free, but the free App will only connect to Google Docs, not to DropBox or others.
